We have found Tomas

Some fabulous news today, we have found Tomas. He is living with a lovely family in Bolton who love him very much. Last Sept I rehomed Tomas to a guy who promised to give him a home for life. It turned out over the next few months that this guy is known for taking dogs offered free to good home then selling them on. I was horrified and immediately started trying to find Tomas and Flick (my collie girl he also had) I found Flick pretty soon but Tomas seemed to have vanished. I was contacted by a lady who had bought him but she had let him go and trail ran dry. I posted a page for him on Facebook and within 24 hours Tomas was found. His new family think the world of him and after being a little concerned that perhaps he had been stolen are now in touch and we will get to see Tomas very soon. A huge relief to he is safe and happy in his new life. A huge thankyou to everyone who posted his page on Facebook and for all the wonderful messages we had once he was found.

Introducing Franky

For sometime I'd been on the lookout for a 100% British bred Border Collie to join our clan. I wanted that old fashioned collie temperament, looks and brains, but of course I wanted a dog from fully health tested parents. Not as easy as you'd think. Anyway here he is our Franky (although he isn't quite 100% British), 4.5 months old a very raw baby just like a young Border Collie should be. Franky is settling in well with our crowd and we're looking forward having great fun with him. Thankyou so much Leann Davenport for letting this boy join us....I know you were so sad to see him leave but you are welcome to visit us any time.

Stables Make Over

Thought it was time to give the stables a make over before winter as some half wit had power washed the preservative off them duh!! Anyway here they are before and after I stained them. Think my arm is going to drop off now lol. In the meantime Ali was busy making new stable doors as we've converted the hay store into 2 more Stables.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Hilary Kerr and Sheila Gay on winning the CC & BOB at the Welsh Kennel Club with Mouse's Dad Pawtails Sunkist Celt for Triplewitch (imp Aus)
Really pleased for you x

1815 St Leger Winner

OK so you may be wondering why I've posted a pic of Filho Da Puta the 1815 St Leger winner?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well whilst tracing back the pedigrees of Max our American Paint Horse and Rohan our Welsh section A, I discovered that they both are descendants of this horse. Two very different breeds sharing a common ancestor. Of course there will be others Thoroughbreds and Arabs were crossed with many breeds to make them what they are today. But it was still a very special discovery for me.... nearly 200 years and 20 generations ( coincidentally 20 for both of them) our boys are family.
Me and Max
Some pics of Me and Max today. Max is just getting back into work after an accident in the field a couple of months ago, so we're having to take things steady. I've been so looking forward to finally getting on with working him myself, and I'm taking him to the arena twice a week. He seems so huge after Oliver...how much difference can 5 inches make LOL
